PEROGIE CASSEROLE = A LOVE IN THE BUGIRL HOUSE!

So this past fall, just when our first tour started my team billeted in the most wonderful city in Southern Mantioba – Winkler!  (That description may be biased as… that is my hometown… haha.)  And so we were doing some events in the area and at our first “billet” (as a team, when we tour we stay with wonderful families that open up their homes to us for the time that we’re in that town or city) my friend Amanda and her family made us the most incredible perogie casserole.  Since then, we shared it with the other team touring when we all came back to the BUG house here in Winnipeg and it’s become a favorite!  So I thought I would share Amanda’s recipe…!  And you girls can try making this at home, it’s super simple and so delicious – your family or friends will LOVE it!

Ingredients…

-          2 sticks of sausage

-          1 kg package of frozen cheese and potato perogies

-          2 cans of cream of mushroom soup (it can be with or without actual mushrooms; I prefer with)

-          2 cans of milk

-          1 to 2 cups of shredded cheese

Directions…

-          Preheat oven for 400 degrees

-          Cook up two sticks of sausage in a frying pan. Then cut into bite size pieces.

-          Place 1 kg of frozen perogies in the bottom of a 9 x 13. Sprinkle cooked sausage on top.

-          Mix 2 cans of cream of mushroom with two cans of milk. Mix in a bowl.

-          Shred cheese (however cheesy you like it. I usually do 1 to 2 cups)

-          Sprinkle cheese on top of sausage and perogies, then pour cream of mushroom mixture over it.

-          Place in oven at 400 for 1 hour. Do not cover.
Enjoy!

You can tell its done when its bubbling deliciously and the cheese is getting golden… YUM!
