The Week Before Christmas

SO this is the last week before Christmas and we are having so much fun here in Winnipeg! The BUgirl Rez. is an exciting place at Christmas. We’ve been attending Christmas parties so much! We have had two at the BUgirl Rez., one was an ugly sweater party and the other, which I will be telling you about, was a “Hutterite party”. Organized by our very own, Natalie Elliot, we had a fully catered meal, and we re-arranged our house to fit 16 people. We had a yummy soup and full roasted chickens, potato salad, coleslaw, rolls, eggnog, and juice. It was fun dressing up, I didn’t exactly have Hutterite outfit, but I wore a sweater, plaid skirt, tights, and sneakers. Natalie also gave a presentation, an informative one, about what Hutterites do for a living, what roles they have in their colonies, and some historical information on Hutterites and their move to Canada, and more specifically Manitoba. We sang some Christmas Carols and did a gift exchange from which I won a beautiful scarf. We had fun just hanging out with office staff at our house—for the record, the BUgirls throw a great party!
