Kassie's Bio
Kassie (20) was born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario where she was involved in the community singing in cafes, churches, weddings, funerals and concerts and had leadership roles in youth groups. Kassie had a love for sports and raced dirt bikes out of school and played football, badminton, softball and track in school, she won the Physical Education award 3 consecutive years in high school. Kassie attended a private Christian school from kindergarten to grade 8 then to a public high school 9 – 12. As a child, Kassie had a deep interest in music and studied piano for a year but longed to play stringed instruments like the violin and upright bass. In grade 8 she bought her first electric guitar and soon after bought an acoustic guitar and started writing songs.
Years later, beyond her wildest dreams, she was able to release her first album "Growing Up" with Avante Records (Winnipeg, MB) November 2008. "There are days I wake up and still can't believe that a girl like me was given this opportunity to share my music with the world. My hope is that people who have gone through or felt similar things will find hope and encouragement in the melodies". This album is comprised of true-life stories, both Kassie's own, intertwined with stories of people around her. The songs uncover the rawness of real life hurt and emotions, and the journey of how God has shown up bringing hope purpose and love into her life, changing the way she thinks, feels and lives.
For the last year and a half, Kassie has toured across Canada and the US with ministry Beautiful Unique Girl, inspiring young girls with the message that they can live with purpose, walk in freedom and discover their beauty. They decorate the rooms with beautiful beach or pyjama decor where they have games, food, concert, motivational speaking sessions, discussion and prayer times. She uses her life story, music and bubbly personality to reach out to these teens knowing they can find their true identity and worth through a relationship with God. Her passion is to see girls' self esteem restored, able to believe the truth knowing they are valued and loved, and to see their full potential in how they were intentionally created with a purpose.
