Guess what I'm holding????
http://c4.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/138/l_5e45b872e16b4d8d88d8d43121d6a503.jpg

That got me thinking. since it was $9.99 for ONE DAY ONLY..why not buy two? So then, I did. :) Oh ya know...just in case one wears out...JK. Ya know what tho? Back in the day, I was kinda worried that my cd's... namely starfield cd's. Would actually wear out from listening to them so much. haha! True story. Anyways...

Just thought I should let you know about the great purchase I made today. In case you haven't already noticed by the pics above.
So very exciting.

I don't know if you've heard of 'em, but there's this band called Starfield and they just released another album called The Saving One. TODAY!! You should check 'em out. You can do so by going to their myspace: http://www.myspace.com/starfield or on iTunes: http://www.itunes.com/starfield/thesavingone ...and since you're there already....why not buy the album?! Great logic, right? I know?!! :)

No wait, you shouldn't check their music out. Nope...and don't bother buying their new album either.... (Reverse psychology?? is it working?) KIDDING. Oh man I am just funny today. KIDDING again!!

In all seriousness though, you should really consider buying it... if you haven't already! I’m listening to it right now, and you will not be disappointed!!! If you don't buy the cd for yourself, then maybe you could buy it for a friend! :) It would totally make their day!

:)

Be blessed!!

Radio doesn't sing like it used to.

Monday, 22 February 2010 00:00

So...the radio in my car has a mind of its own...it tends to cut in and out. Leaving that shnurry sound (yes i just did say shnurry, and it is a word...in my vocabulary...) Sometimes though, if I hit the dashboard in just the right spot, and at just the right strength (sometimes leaving my hand hurting...wow good grammar haha) it goes back on. But lately...it’s gotten worse... sad, I know. .. Literally, I’ll be in the car for like 5 minutes and the radio is gone. ---Note to self, don’t go on long road trips before getting dad to fix it :)

Having the radio not work might actually be a good thing after all-----good time to use that quietness to pray, listen, and just enjoy the silence. Sometimes I find myself always wanting the music on, or even to just be busy with something which isn’t always a bad thing. But sometimes I think, at least for myself, it’s good to be quiet.  And I’m getting more and more used to having quiet (especially in the car ha). But ya know what? I’m actually enjoying it.

Thank you car radio, for not working. For now, anyways.

For those who like peanut butter...

Friday, 29 January 2010 00:00

Peanut butter is my absolute favorite! Like, I eat it by the spoonfuls. Sometimes I even put chocolate chips on top of the peanut butter on the spoon. SO good.

But anyways, I wanted to share the goodness of peanut butter with you... so here's a quick and easy recipe!! One of my favs. Kind of tastes like Reese's Pieces.

I don’t usually follow the directions on this one, so I hope it’s accurate, if not, then its pretty close. lol. Just play it by ear... taste it every once in a while...if it tastes good to you, then it’s probably good! It’s not too fussy. -usually turns out pretty good! You can use your judgement :)

Have fun!!

Crispy Crunchies

Mix together:

1 ½ c Peanut Butter

¼ c Margarine

1 c Icing sugar

3 c Rice crispies. Crushed up.

(if you don’t have rice crispies, corn flakes work well too.)

Press into a small glass pan. Refrigerate until cooled.

Melt:

1 ½ c chocolate chips. (I always use more :)

2 tsp margarine

 Spread over top.

Refrigerate again.

Enjoy!!! :)

Cookies, Barking Dogs and 487 Grasshoppers.

Friday, 25 September 2009 00:00

At home with the fam for the weekend. Good to be home. Today I baked cookies. And might I add, they are chewy and not over-baked. Yay and Yum. I baked them for half the time that the package said. I also ate far too much raw cookie dough... Didn’t feel too good after that.

So, after that was done, I quickly threw in a load of laundry and decided to go for a run. I live in the sticks, or the country or whatever you wanna call it, and normally, I’d only run to a certain neighbour’s driveway, cuz I know that after that driveway, there are dogs. I don’t think they’re mean, but they always bark, and let’s just say, I’m a little uneasy about them barking at me, I’m scared that they’ll eat me or attack me or something. Haha. But today was a different kind of day. I was going to face my fear and go past that point..... Well, what do ya know?! I didn’t even have to face my fear... There were NO dogs... At least they didn’t show up. I thought this was strange. But I was okay with it. Actually, I was kinda secretly hoping that there would be, cuz then I could scare them off and be all tough (haha riiiight) then i’d have a story to tell after... but alas, I got nothing.

It was hot but peaceful outside today. I love it in the country. The odd tractor driving by, crickets noises in the ditch, the sound of gravel crunching beneath your feet. Oh and there were like 487 grasshoppers I met up with. Well, okay, not exactly, but there were a lot. Maybe they were there to make up for the lack of barking dogs. I dunno. Anyways, I went to the stop sign and back, because you alllllll wanted to know. Haha. Yep. It was sweaty. But felt good.

Now I’m gonna go and watch High School Musical 3 with my ‘lil sis. Yes, I said it! no shame. I like High School musical...a lot!! :) I think I might even be more excited to watch it today than my sister!!

:-)

getting ready to record.....

Sunday, 23 August 2009 18:00

Practice, practice, squeak,  practice, and then squeak some more. That’s  what your life would sound like if  you were me right now. My voice is  slowly saying goodbye! Which wouldn’t be  the worst thing ever...on a normal day.  But guess what? Tomorrow i record.

Day One. Okay. So  guess what?! I loved it!! Recording was  so much fun!! Not at all as stressful  as i thought it would be. ANNNND  my voice actually pulled through. I feel  so relieved right now, i was stressing  out all for nothing. As i was walking  downstairs to the studio, i was literally  shaking. But once i got in there,  the nerves were... gone. And i just...  sang.

Beautiful Unique Girl '08 was great!

Thursday, 23 July 2009 00:00

So I always want to update you all on the happenings, but I never know how or where to begin. So I’ll try my best to capture the moments in a way that will make sense. Haha.

This is what I’ve been up to as of late:

I've been interning with a ministry called Beautiful Unique Girl (also known as BUgirl, or some people call it BUG) based out of Winnipeg, MB. It's a division of Family Life Network, which is a non-denominational multicultural media outreach....man I sound smart ;) haha.  It has been the most crazy, stretching 9 months of my life so far!

What we do is we travel across Canada and into the states and put on 4 hour events for girls ages 12-17. Telling them that they are valued and intentionally created by God. The message is based on Psalm 139. There are two touring teams: the Pyjama party team, and the Beach party team. Both teams consist of an artist, inspirational speaker and interns.

I had the opportunity to experience both the PJ and Beach party.

The first semester, I toured with the Beach Party team. The focus of the night is "walking in freedom". We were mainly in Ontario. Wait a minute. Let me correct myself. We were only in Ontario. (at least that’s what it felt like) Seriously, Ontario is HUGE. We spent a whopping 2 and a half months there. Crazy I know. But it was a great time. Met lots of people. Kassie Tyers was the artist for the team!! (myspace.com/kassietyers) I was the food girl. HAHA J. I served the food for the nights, which included pizza, veggies, munchies, juice, SMOOTHIES, nachos and cheese. Mmmmm.

The second semester, I toured with the PJ Party team. The focus of this night is "Discover your beauty" We toured Saskatchewan, Alberta and BC!!! K, so I had never been to BC before in my life!!! WOW it’s SO beautiful!!!! Definitely want to go back sometime. SK was fun to drive through... Charmaine Champion was the artist for the PJ party (myspace.com/championcharmaine). I was the audio and lights girl for the events. So pretty much I got to be sort of like a DJ. It was fun.
But let me tell you what the PJ party included: pizza and all that yummy stuff. CHOCOLATE FONDUE and popcorn. That’s a new diet for ya.

For both parties, we have games, nail painting, sessions, a mini concert etc.

While we weren't on the road, we were at our home base, in Winnipeg, MB. Learning, listening to speakers, bible classes, debriefing, stuff to prepare us while on the road and doing 'assignments' which weren't really assignments cuz they were fun most of the time. ETC. I love the word et cetera. Is that how you spell it? Cuz you could stop in mid sentence and not bother explaining what you’re talking about and it would still make sense. Like for instance, the cat fell out of the tree and ETC. ok...so I guess it doesn't really work that way.....hmmmm....lol....really off topic....

I've met so many people this year, lifelong friends. Craziness. Love it!

Seeing girl’s lives change firsthand is SO incredible. I mean, when a girl walks in the doors from the beginning of an event to the end of an event, it’s like there's a twinkle in her eye. God is definitely at work. On that carpet, or bamboo mat at the end of an event, I can't help but smile. Cuz this is why I am here, not to travel across Canada, yes its fun, or to live in a big house with a gazillion girls. It’s like a reality TV show.  I kid you not...a good one though!! But seriously, seeing God at work in the hearts of girls. Being a part of this ministry has been a complete blessing. It has stretched me in ways I never thought possible. I have learnt so so so much!!

If you want more information you can head on over to:
www.bugirl.com or you can just go there anyways :-)

So that’s what I’ve been up to... in a nutshell.

Be blessed!

Farmers!

Tuesday, 20 November 2007 00:00

Yesterday I had a day off so I had to help bring some cows home. Oh what a joy. (did you hear the sarcasm in that?) Well no, it actually wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I just had to stand there with a stick in my hands and make sure no cows would go past me. I don’t know why but whenever I have to help with that kind of stuff I kind of freak out. I stress out over it. it’s silly really. But this time I prayed beforehand that the cows would just listen. Sounds silly right?? But seriously, they did, the cows went where they were supposed to go :)

I’m most definitely not the farming type. I mean living on a farm is good and I love it! But I don’t think I’d pursue farming as my career.

Who are all the farmers out there? (as in you live on a farm...I consider myself a farmer. haha) Or have lived on a farm? Or wishes they were farmers? Would you/do you want to go into farming? leave some comments!

Have a great week!
